 国家杰出青年科学基金(含外籍)候选人名单公示
 

共180名候选人,其中5名为外籍

根据《国家杰出青年科学基金实施管理办法》和《国家杰出青年科学基金异议期试行办法》的有关规定,现将国家自然科学基金委员会各科学部专业评审组确定的2009年度国家杰出青年科学基金(含外籍)候选人名单予以公布。自公布之日起一个月内(8月5日—9月4日)为异议期。
任何单位或个人如对公布的候选人持有异议,可根据《国家杰出青年科学基金异议期试行办法》的有关规定向国家自然科学基金委员会监督委员会提出。

科技部8月3日在其官方网站公布了2009年度国家自然科学奖评审委员会、国家技术发明奖评审委员会、国家科学技术进步奖评审委员会评审通过的建议授奖项目(通用项目)。评审结果将提交国家科学技术奖励委员会审定。

 第45批博士后科学基金资助金获得者名单公布

217人获一等资助,5万元;1370人获二等资助,3万元

据中国博士后基金会消息,根据现行《中国博士后科学基金资助规定》,经专家评审,基金会秘书长办公会议和基金理事会审核,批准北京大学林姚宇等1587人获得第四十五批中国博 士后科学基金面上资助。其中217人获得一等资助,资助金额为5万元人民币;1370人获得二等资助,资助金额为3万元人民币。

“长江学者成就奖”候选人开始推荐

 

五个单项学科奖项各设获奖者一名,奖金为100万元

教育部人事司7月22日发布通知,决定开展2009年度“长江学者成就奖”的年度评选工作。

2009年度“长江学者成就奖”设数理化科学奖、生命科学奖、信息科学奖、工程科学奖、地球科学与环境科学奖等五个奖项,每个单项学科奖项设获奖者一名,奖金为100万元。在中国内地、港澳地区的高等学校或中国科学院所属研究机构任职的学者可申报所有奖项。在环境保护部所属研究机构任职的学者可申报资源与环境科学奖。

获奖人员条件:科学道德高尚、年龄在50岁以下、主要在自然科学领域取得国际公认领先水平的重大科研成果或者突破性进展的华人学者。
“长江学者成就奖”采取单位推荐方式,中国内地、港澳地区高等学校的候选人,由学校直接向教育部推荐;中国科学院、环境保护部所属研究机构的候选人,由中国科学院、环境保护部有关部门归口汇总后向教育部推荐。

 关于开展第十一届中国青年科技奖
暨江苏省十大青年科技之星候选人推荐与评选工作的通知

各市委组织部,市人事局、市科协,各省级学会:

中共中央组织部、人力资源和社会保障部、中国科学技术协会决定开展第十一届中国青年科技奖候选人推荐与评选工作,省科协结合这次评选,同时开展江苏省十大青年科技之星(第十一届江苏省青年科技奖)候选人的推荐与评选工作。
一、评选条件
(一)在自然科学研究领域取得重要的、创新性的成就和作出突出贡献;
(二)在工程技术方面取得重大的、创造性的成果和作出贡献,并有显著应用成效;
(三)在科学技术普及、科技成果推广转化、科技管理工作中取得突出成绩,产生显著的社会效益或经济效益。
二、年龄要求

1969年1月1日以后出生的中华人民共和国公民。
三、推荐名额

本着“公开、公正、公平、择优”原则,请各省辖市推荐3-5名;各高校科协推荐1名;各省级学会推荐1名。往届获奖者不重复受奖。
四、推荐程序

各市委组织部、市人事局、市科协共同负责本辖区候选人的推荐和评选工作,由市科协统一报省科协;各省级学会负责本行业、本学科候选人的推荐工作,须征求并签署被推荐者所在单位意见,并经候选人所在单位以及部门党委(党组)审定同意后,报省科协。

请于2009年8月10日前将书面推荐材料报送省科协组宣部。

 2009年第13届海峡两岸力学交流暨中学生力学夏令营活动圆满完成

 

由中国力学学会、周培源基金会主办,河海大学、江苏省力学学会承办,南京外国语学校、扬州大学协办的“2009年海峡两岸力学交流暨中学生力学夏令营”活动于7月12日在江苏南京拉开帷幕。由台湾省力学学会秘书长、成功大学航空太空工程系教授郑金祥带队的台湾省师生代表团一行28人,以及全国各省市力学工 作者及优秀中学生代表60余人参加了此次交流活动。该项活动是中国力学学会自1996年开始举办的海峡两岸以中学生为主体的力学科普夏令营活动,每年举行 一次。一年在大陆,一年在中国台湾交换进行。

在为期一周的夏令营期间,开展了力学知识竞赛、力学科普交流和参观访问等活动。在力学知识竞赛中,学生们从笔试、动手制作、趣味力学知识问答等多 种形式中感受到了力学的乐趣,也因此增进了彼此间的友谊。同时,两岸力学工作者及中学教师就力学科普、教学与科研等多方面进行了交流与座谈。承办单位河海 大学力学系主任邵国建教授介绍了河海大学力学系的学科建设、教学与科研等情况。此外,江苏省力学学会名誉理事长姜弘道教授、理事长任青文教授与台湾省力学学会秘书长郑金祥教授、台湾省力学学会科普委员会主任委员江国宁教授等海峡两岸的力学工作者们还就进一步加强两岸合作交流等事宜进行了座谈。

7月14日“2009年海峡两岸力学交流暨中学生力学夏令营”活动闭幕式在南京外国语学校举行。闭幕式上,海峡两岸的力学专家、学者为在力学知识竞赛中表现出色的中学生们进行了颁奖。

随后,台湾省力学学会秘书长郑金祥教授发表讲话,对本次活动给予了充分的肯定并表示感谢。最后,中国力学学会副理事长刘人怀院士代表中国力学学会 致闭幕词,并作了热情激昂的即兴演讲,他以自己的亲身经历向中学生们介绍了力学的广泛应用,并鼓励中学生们要发奋图强,为中华民族的伟大复兴而努力学习。

7月15~19日,台湾省师生代表团还在承办方的陪同下参观了南京、扬州、常州等名胜古迹,在交流力学科普工作的同时领略了中华民族的历史文化,加强两岸青少年的沟通交融。促进两岸彼此了解。

 第十二届全国实验力学学术会议召开

 

第十二届全国实验力学学术会议于2009年7月25至28日在内蒙古自治区呼和浩特召开。中国力学学会实验力学专业委员会副主任委员亢一澜教授主持了开幕式,专业委员会主任委员谢惠民教授致开幕词,中国力学学会副理事长方岱宁教授到会祝贺并致辞,国家自然科学基金委员会力学处孟庆国处长出席会议并讲话,内蒙古工业大学校长邢永明到会祝贺。

本届共有约220名会议代表参会,其中包括来自美国的海外同行,本届会议由中国力学学会实验力学专业委员会主办、内蒙古工业大学承办。会议共收到论文212篇,宣读论文110篇。会议期间,大会还举办了“实验力学发展论坛”。

大会闭幕式由专业委员会副主任张青川教授主持,专业委员会副主任委员黄培彦教授宣读大会纪要,龚兴龙副主编代表《实验力学》编辑部作报告。

 中国力学学会实验力学专业委员会召开第五次工作会议

 

在第12届全国实验力学学术会议召开期间,中国力学学会实验力学专业委员会于2009年7月27日在呼和浩特市召开了第五次工作会议,专业委员会成员和特邀代表共计32人参加本次会议。

1)专委会肯定了本届全国实验力学学术会议会务组所做出的努力,并就下一届全国实验力学学术会议的承办单位进行了热议。通过民主投票方式最终确定由昆明理工大学负责承办第13届全国实验力学学术会议,并初步定在2012年7月下旬在昆明召开。同时,在征询中国台湾同行建议的基础上,会议决定第5届“二十一世纪的实验力学学科发展-海峡两岸实验力学研讨会”与第13届全国实验力学学术会议同期举行,也由昆明理工大学承办。

2)会议讨论了2010年专委会各工作组的专题研讨学术活动计划,将组织微纳米力学方向的“青年科学家学术论坛”,预计将在明年下半年举办。

3)会议结合国家基金委有关人才发展的相关工作,决定组织“2010年实验力学青年工作者发展论坛”。

 第3届全国动力学与控制青年学者研讨会召开

 

由国家自然科学基金委员会数理学部和中国力学学会动力学与控制专业委员会共同主办,内蒙古财经学院承办的“第3届全国动力学与控制青年学者研讨会”于2009年7月27至28日在内蒙古呼和浩特市召开。开幕式由内蒙古财经学院王青云教授主持,国家自然科学基金委员会数理学部力学处孟庆国处长代表基金委、动力学与控制专业委员会主任委员张伟教授代表动力学与控制专业委员会致辞,内蒙古财经学院副院长李春林教授代表该院致辞并热烈欢迎与会代表;国家基金委数理学部力学处詹世革项目主任、流动项目主任周济福和甘春标出席了开幕式。

会议代表主要为动力学与控制学科40岁以下的国家自然科学基金获得者共42位,会议邀请了中国航天科技集团上海航天技术研究院副院长孟光教授、石家庄铁道学院副院长杨绍普教授、同济大学徐鉴教授、上海大学陈立群教授、解放军理工大学王在华教授等5位国家杰出青年基金获得者,还特别邀请了老一辈学者北京航空航天大学陆启韶教授出席。

 第三届“二十一世纪的实验力学学科发展-海峡两岸实验力学研讨会”召开

 

由中国力学学会实验力学专业委员会主办,内蒙古工业大学协办的第三届“二十一世纪的实验 力学学科发展-海峡两岸实验力学研讨会”于2009年7月28日在内蒙古呼和浩特举行。本次研讨会由来自清华大学(北京)、天津大学、中科院力学所等大陆 10所院校和科研单位的15名一线学者、教授等高层次青年科学家和工程专家,与来自中国台湾的清华大学、成功大学等10所院校和科研单位的16名学者进行了广泛地交流。

会议期间同时还召开了海峡两岸实验力学研讨会筹备组工作会议,决定将于2011年在中国台北举行第四届海峡两岸实验力学会议,2012年在昆明举行第五届两岸实验力学会议。

 ICTAM2012大会中国组织委员会第2次工作会议顺利召开

 

8月1日星期六下午,ICTAM2012大会中国组织委员会(以下简称LOC)第2次工作会议在中科院力学所召开。参加会议的有大会主席白以龙,秘书长王建祥,指导委员会成员李家春、程耿东、杨卫、洪友士、钟万勰、戴世强,组织委员会成员方岱宁、胡海岩、佘振苏、魏悦广、谢惠民、杨亚政、张伟,以及秘书处成员陈杰、冯雪、汤亚南、陶建军。

会议听取了LOC关于ICTAM2012大会准备工作的近期进展汇报,主要围绕与IUTAM大会委员会联系情况、大会总体组织、预通知草案、学术组织和程序草案、大会财务计划、会务组织等方面的内容展开讨论,并对下一阶段的工作进行了细致安排。

Personal Background

Robert Rudd has been a staff physicist in the Metals and Alloys Group since April 2000, using atomistic and multiscale computer simulation to study mechanics at the nanoscale. He received his BS degree from the University of Virginia in 1987 and his PhD degree in Theoretical Physics from Princeton University 1992. His graduate advisor was Prof. David J. Gross and his thesis topic entitled "Light-Cone Gauge Quantization of String Theories with Dilatons" showed how a special gauge could be employed to calculate properties of string theories relevant to cosmology and quantum gravity. In particular, it was shown that a class of generalized, large-amplitude gravitational waves are exact solutions of the full non-linear string theory. Also it was shown how the special states of two-dimensional quantum gravity appear in the light-cone gauge. Dr. Rudd then spent three years in the String Theory group at Rutgers University (1992-1995) as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where he developed the formulation of gauge theories as string theory with special emphasis on non-perturbative effects. He then joined the Complex Systems Theory Branch as an SFA contractor, returning to his roots in Condensed Matter theory in collaborations with Dr. Warren Pickett and Dr. Jeremy Broughton. In 1998 he became a Lecturer in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Linacre College. The focus of his work at NRL and Oxford, and now at LLNL, has been the simulation of multiscale systems. Dr. Rudd is a former director of the LLNL Summer Institute on Computational Materials Science and Chemistry, a two-month summer school and mentorship program for graduate students at LLNL. He is an editor (with A.P. Sutton) of the Oxford Series on Materials Modelling, a series of books published by Oxford University Press. He is also on the editorial board of the journals Molecular Simulation and Modelling and Simulation in Materials Science and Engineering.

国际介观力学研讨会(International Conference on Mesomechanics)由俄罗斯国家科学院院士Professor V.E. Panin与美国理海大学Professor G. C. Sih共同发起组织。第十二次研讨会将于2010年6月21日至25日于台湾科技大学国际大楼举办。

All authors whose abstracts have been accepted for the conference will be invited to submit full papers. These papers will be subjected to blind peer-review and the proceedings will have an ISBN number. It can therefore be expected that authors will benefit from the Department of Education subsidy for their publications. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Programme Committee and authors will be notified whether their papers have been accepted for oral or poster presentations by 20 May 2009.

Please note that no papers will be included in the programme unless full payment for the speaker has been received by 31 July 2009.
Proceedings

* The conference proceedings will be published after a double blind review process has been followed. This publication will have an ISBN reference and will qualify for South Africa's Department of Education subsidy system for research outputs.

* The review committee will invite authors of exceptional quality papers to upgrade their proceeding papers, and these papers will be submitted to the SAIEE Africa Research Journal (ARJ). Prof. M. du Plessis will act as guest editor for the special issue of the above publication dedicated to SMEOS'09, to be published in March 2010.

Introduction

The First International Conference on “Advances in Interaction and Multiscale Mechanics (AIMM’10)” will be held in Jeju Island, Korea during May 30 to June 4, 2010.

The conference emphasizes the new developments of interaction and multiscale mechanics and their applications in engineering. As many contemporary and innovative designs encompass the interaction phenomena and the multiscale features, the presentations of papers featuring advancement of theories and applications of these important sector of technology are particularly encouraged. This conference will bring together academics and practicing engineers to exchange new ideas and experiences in the areas of Interaction and Multiscale Mechanics. You are cordially invited to attend this interesting event.

The conference (AIMM’10) will focus on emerging two important subjects, namely multiphysics and multiscale mechanics. The topics will include (but not limited to):

Those who are interested in the areas of multimedia interactions and multiscale mechanics are invited to submit one-page abstracts to the Conference Secretariat Thru electronic submission system (TeMUS) (http://www.techno-press.org/papers/).

Abstracts should include the full name and address, telephone and fax numbers and email address of the author(s). Details of instructions to prepare the abstracts and full papers will be available in the http://AIMM10.kaist.ac.kr/paperGuidelines.pdf.
Proceedings

The abstracts of papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings and the full papers on CD. The proceedings will be distributed to the all registered participants. Only papers submitted by the pre-registerd authors will be included in the proceedings.

And some successful organizers will be invited to serve as a guest editor for a special issue of Interaction & Multiscale Mechanics.
Fee & Registration

The (tentative) registration fee for the conference is US$500 if registered on or before March 31, 2010 and US$550 after this date. The fee will cover a copy of conference proceedings, admission to technical sessions, welcome reception, lunches, banquet and coffee services during session breaks.
Cancellation & Refund

If the cancellation in writing is received by April 15, 2010 or the submitted paper is not accepted for presentation, the registration fee paid will be fully refunded, and after that date a processing fee of US $100 will be deducted.

No refunds will be given after April 30, 2010. For the fully registered participants who are not able to attend the conference, a set of proceedings will be sent by post.

Paris, France, May 16-21 2010

 

The IV European Conference on Computational Mechanics-ECCM 2010, Solids, Structures and Coupled Problems in Engineering, organized by ECCOMAS, will take place in Paris, France, May 16-21 2010 (see the Congress website http://www.eccm2010.org/ for more information).

During this conference, we are organizing a Minisymposium entitled:
                                                                     Fracture and Contact Mechanics for Interface Problems

This Minisymposium will be held under the auspices of the Italian Group of Fracture.Abstracts of perspective contributors should be submitted through the website of the Conference http://www.eccm2010.org/ . ABSTRACT

Interface mechanical problems are of main concern in civil, mechanical and electronic engineering, as well as in biomechanics, geophysics and materials science. Interfaces in multi-material systems, such as layered materials, fibre-composites and hierarchical materials, must sustain mechanical and thermo-elastic stresses without failure. Consequently, they exert an important and sometimes controlling influence on the overall performance of the materials. In this context, analytical and numerical methods based on fracture mechanics and contact mechanics can be profitably applied to characterize the mechanical behaviour of interfaces over all the scales.

The aim of this Minisymposium is to bring together specialists in fracture mechanics and contact mechanics to discuss advances in mathematical formulations and computational models for interface mechanical problems. Interested researchers are invited to submit abstracts on topics which include, but are not limited to:
• Multiscale characterization of roughness of contact and fracture surfaces;
• Mathematical formulations for the structural analysis of multi-material systems;
• Computational methods for decohesion and contact problems at interfaces under monotonic or cyclic loading;
• Analysis of instability phenomena (snap-back and snap-through) at interfaces;
• Interface constitutive laws;
• Applications to advanced heterogeneous materials, such as hierarchical composites and functionally graded materials.

 Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Computational Material Science

 

A postdoctoral research position in developing first-principles based multiscale modeling of Li ion batteries is available immediately at the Richard G. Lugar Center for Renewable Energy in Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). The candidate will work on a project on developing and applying multiscale simulation approach to modeling the material processes occurring in Li-ion rechargeable batteries. This project involves close collaborations with the experimentalist scientists. The candidate should hold a doctor degree in a relevant discipline, such as Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in atomistic scale simulations (Density Functional Theory, molecular dynamics, and Monte Carlo methods) and scientific programming (C, C++, or Fortran). Prior experience in the use of software VASP and Materials Studio is desirable.  Post-doc at the Université de Bretagne-Sud (France) for one year starting ASAP

 

Task: prediction of forming limits of aluminum thin sheet in bending

Our university can finance a post-doctorate position for a foreign doctor, who has done its PhD in a foreign university.

NEW: financial support is obtained, for a salary of 2240 euros per month (salary+taxes)

This project deals with the numerical prediction of forming limits in case of bending processes by taking into account the distribution of porosities resulting from ductile damage, when the metallic sheet is bent over radii of the order or lower than its thickness, in order to validate the numerical design of the process. The studied material is an aluminum thin sheet.

This project involves the characterization of the damage mechanisms and void volume fraction estimations from SEM and X-rays microtomography observations and the identification of parameters of a micromechanical model that takes into account a coupling between viscoplasticity and damage (Gurson type model). Tensile tests on straight and notched samples and biaxial tension will be used to calibrate the material parameters. Bending tests will be performed in order to validate the criterion.

Work to do: mechanical testing, image post-treatment (from SEM and microtomography), parameter identification, numerical simulation (Abaqus)

流体力学与实验力学(现二级学科为固体力学)是我国首批博士学位授予学科,其中流体力学为国家重点学科,实验力学是天津市重点学科。本一级学科有一支高水平的师资队伍,包括中科院院士1名,中国工程院院士1名,长江学者2名,教授 20名(博导13名),副教授11名(硕导17名)。
天大力学学科具有理工并重的特点,在科研工作中坚持基础研究,在国内力学学术界有很高的学术地位,且注重力学在工程应用,与诸多工程科学领域联系紧密。该学科具有良好的科研与育人氛围、学术空气浓厚、学术思想活跃。
  近年来承担多项国家973、863、国家自然科学基金重大和重点项目、省市级科研项目,和数额较大的横向工程应用课题,在基础研究与工程应用两个方面均取得重要成果。成果获国家和省市级以上自然科学奖与科技进步奖多项,同时获多项国家和省部级教学成果奖。

 《计算结构动力学》简介

由北京强度环境研究所邱吉宝研究员、北京卫星环境工程部向树红研究员、北京强度环境研究所张正平研究员共同编著的《计算结构动力学》是“十一五”国家重点图书,由中国科学技术大学出版社出版。
