北京国际力学中心无网格、粒子类和扩展有限元方法国际学术会议在河海大学举办

北京国际力学中心无网格、粒子类和扩展有限元方法国际学术会议(BICTAM International
Symposium on Meshfree/Meshless, Particle and Generalized/Extended Finite Element
Methods)于10月12日至16日在河海大学成功举办。会议由北京国际力学中心和中国计算力学专业委员会主办,河海大学承办,来自美国、法国、日本、西班牙、阿根廷、新加坡等国家的17名国外代表以及来自中国科学院力学所、北京大学、清华大学、浙江大学、厦门大学、大连理工大学、湖南大学、华中科技大学、西安交通大学、河海大学、南京航空航天大学、西安第二炮兵工程学院、山东大学、山东理工大学、山东建筑大学、南昌大学、内蒙古工业大学、中山大学(台湾)等单位的代表参加了会议。
10月12日上午,组织委员会主席,河海大学陈文教授主持了会议的开幕式,会议主席,北京大学袁明武教授致开幕词。本次会议是国际计算力学领域的一次高水平学术会议,聚集了计算力学无网格/粒子类方法和扩展有限元领域的国际和国内大部分顶级专家学者。会议有大会报告1个、邀请报告15个、交流报告26个。会议期间,与会代表围绕无网格、粒子类和扩展有限元法的理论背景、数值方法、程序实施及其在许多领域应用开展了广泛的学术交流,探讨今后的主要发展方向。
会议特别邀请了美国工程院院士、“铁木辛柯”奖获者、计算力学顶级期刊International Journal for Numerical Methods
in Engineering主编、前任美国计算力学学会主席、著名的Meshfree Galerkin
Method和扩展有限元方法(XFEM)的提出者、全球所有工程领域SCI引用率最高的4个研究者之一、西北大学讲座教授Ted Belytschko,做题为“Advances
and Applications of Meshfress
Methods”的大会报告。他的报告总结了近二十年来无网格方法和扩展有限元方法的发展历史、主要成就,并指出了今后的发展方向。
会议还邀请了前任美国计算力学学会主席、国内外很有影响的“重构核质点法(reproducing kernel particle meshfree

Okuda教授,数值岩土力学方向973项目首席科学家、我国离散元方法和岩土力学的著名专家、中国科学院力学所李世海研究员等国内外著名计算力学专家。
本次会议得到了国家自然科学基金委员会、北京国际力学中心、国际计算力学协会、亚太计算力学学会、江苏省力学学会、河海大学工程力学系、大连理工大学工业装备结构分析国家重点实验室、浙江大学航空航天学院、清华大学航天学院、厦门大学建筑与土木工程学院的大力支持。
会议旨在提高我国计算力学研究的水平,为高水平国际学术交流提供一个平台。会议的成功举办受到了美国工程院院士Ted Belytschko教授的高度称赞。

2009年全国优秀博士学位论文评选工作已经全部完成。共有98篇学位论文从363篇提名论文中选定为全国优秀博士学位论文。其中力学方面有3篇入选,分别是:清华大学裴永茂《铁磁智能材料力磁耦合行为研究》(导师:方岱宁)、南京航空航天大学王立峰《一维纳米结构的若干力学问题》(导师:胡海岩)和中国矿业大学左建平《温度-应力共同作用下砂岩破坏的细观机制与强度特征》(导师:谢和平)。

汶川地震是有仪器记录以来发生的世界上最大的板内逆冲型地震之一,是青藏高原东缘龙门山断裂带的最新一次活动。该地震发生在我国活动断裂研究的盲区之一,因此提供了一次罕见的、代价高昂的机会来研究逆冲型强震破裂的几何形态、动态过程以及震间加载等,同时对理解和评价龙门山以及青藏高原变形的理论模型有重要意义。地震后,国内外科学家陆续开展了多学科的深入研究。
地表破裂带是地震破裂各种特征的最直观表现。但是世界范围内,逆冲型地震地表破裂的详细填图非常稀少,地表破裂的数据积累也远少于走滑型和正断型地震。青藏所刘静研究员的课题组基于汶川地震地表破裂野外调查的机理性分析结果最近发表在国际著名地学期刊《地球与行星科学通讯》(Earth and Planetary Science Letters)(2008IF:3.955)上。该文对汶川地震同震破裂进行了现象描述和基本数据的报道。如,破裂发生在多条断裂上。北东走向的映秀-北川断裂上长约225 km破裂带表现为逆冲兼右旋运动特征,陡坎最高达约10米。与之平行的灌县-江油断裂上约70 km的破裂带为近纯逆冲性质,最大垂向位移为3.5m。夹持在这两条断裂之间约8km长的北西走向小鱼洞破裂带,为逆冲兼左旋运动,陡坎最高达约3米。

The 5th Conference on Advances in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics
(ICAMEM2010)
The 5th International Conference on Advances in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics (ICAMEM2010) will be held in Hammamet, Tunisia from December 20th to 22nd, 2010.
ICAMEM aims at attracting the interest of specialists, academicians and researchers from the international community working in research areas related to Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics. It allows the scientific community in Tunisia, North Africa and the Middle East to exchange research and educational ideas and experiences with researchers in other regions of the world. It has grown to be a quite successful conference organized every two years in one of the cities of Tunisia.
Based on previous history of ICAMEM, about 200 participants from several countries are expected to participate in ICAMEM2010 which will have as usual a sound technical program and a number of interesting keynote and plenary lectures.
In addition,
the organizing committee is working on a quite special and interesting social
and cultural program running before and during the conference.
The deadline for full paper submission is March 31st, 2010.

The 14th International Conference on Experimental Mechanics (ICEM 14)

The 14th International Conference on Experimental Mechanics (ICEM 14) will be held in Poitiers, FRANCE, July 4-9, 2010.
ICEM14 will focus in all aspects of experimental mechanics and will include sessions devoted to advanced developments applied to structures, materials and environmental issues. The technical program of ICEM14 will be the product of hard work and devotion of more than 100 world leading experts to whom I am greatly indebted. ICEM14 will comprise invited lectures by eminent academics from all around the world together with contributed oral presentations covering all aspect of experimental mechanics. During the conference special symposia covering major areas of research activities organized by members of the Scientific Advisory Board will take place.
The attendees of ICEM14 will have the opportunity to interact with the most outstanding world leaders and get acquainted with the latest developments in the area of experimental analysis of engineering, materials and structures. ICEM14 will be a forum of university and industry interaction and exchange of ideas in an area of utmost scientific and technological importance.

PhD Studentship: Rock Fracture and Fragmentation
Imperial College London - Department of Earth Science and Engineering
Background: The Rio Tinto Centre for Advanced Mineral Recovery was founded in 2008 in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering, Imperial College London. The Centre is a partnership between Imperial College London and Rio Tinto, one of the world’s largest mining companies, and is aimed at developing more efficient and environmentally friendly methods of mining - the “mine of the future”. One of the projects within the centre is Rock Fracture and Fragmentation, which is aimed at developing computational tools to study the fracture, fragmentation and flow of rock within underground mines that are being mined using the block caving method.
Technical Scope: The objective of this project is to undertake and disseminate research in the computational modelling of rock fracturing and fragmentation processes. Specifically, the student will investigate, using mathematical modelling and computer simulation, fundamental issues related to rock fracture and fragmentation, such as the effect of fracture propagation criteria on the resultant geometry of the rock fragments, as well as practical questions, such as the optimum design of drawpoints in a block cave mine.
Requirements: Applicants should have an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in engineering, physics, geophysics, applied mathematics, or computer science. Applicants should also possess the following knowledge and skills:
Other details: This is a 3-year PhD studentship, paying a non-taxable bursary of £15,000 per year. The student will work under the supervision of Professor Robert Zimmerman and Dr Adriana Paluszny, with frequent interaction with Rio Tinto engineers, and other members of the research staff at the Centre.

Position in multi-scale modeling of carbon-based nanostructured materials
A post-doctoral research associate position is available immediately in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Maryland NanoCenter at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the area of multi-scale modeling (from atomistic, molecular, coarse-grained to continuum) of carbon-based nanostructured materials. Material properties of specific interest include mechanical and electrical properties, with special focus on deformation/failure mechanisms and bandgap engineering.
A Ph.D. in solid mechanics, materials science, physics or a related field is required. The candidate should have well-developed multi-scale modeling and simulation skills, established publication record, and strong verbal/writing communication skills.

卢天健
卢天健,男,1964年10月生,教授。1995年获美国哈佛大学工程与应用科学哲学博士学位;1995-1996年在哈佛大学从事博士后研究;1996年任英国剑桥大学工程系Lecturer,2001年跳过Senior Lecturer直接晋升Reader(相当于美国和我国正教授);2004年起任西安交通大学教授,副校长。从事力学、材料学、传热学、声学、生命科学等学科的综合交叉基础和应用研究。近年在国际学术期刊上发表论文 160 余篇(其中,以西安交大名义发表 60 余篇)以及国际学术会议论文 50 余篇,被 SCI 他引近 1000 次,在主要研究领域:超轻型多功能金属材料、智能材料、电子元件热处理、噪声控制、优化设计、结构可靠性分析、生命科学等领域取得了一系列成果。作为主要负责人,在剑桥大学工作期间先后承担美国海军 科研总署 、英国工程与物理研究总署、欧盟和工业界资助的多项科研项目,回国后作为首席科学家承担国家“ 973 ”项目及负责一项国家自然科学基金项目,是国家杰出青年基金海外青年学者合作研究基金获得者, 本人负责纵向项目总经费累计超过 8000 万元。 在剑桥大学和西安交通大学先后指导 8 位博士后,接待半年以上高级访问学者 10 余人(次),培养已毕业或正就读博士 15 位、硕士 24 位。获得过第八届全英热传导会议最佳论文奖(2003 年)和美国机械工程师学会 ASME嘉赏奖(1996 年)。每年为国际期刊J. Mechanics and Physics of Solids、Int. J. Solids and Structures、Proc. Royal Soc. Lond.、Int. J. Fracture、J. Appl. Phys.、J. Acous. Soc. Am.、J. Sound Vibration、Trans. ASME、 J. Am. Ceram. 建筑系于1987年由东南大学建筑系协助创办,并派遣了郭湖生、卢志昌两位教授来系主持工作。90年代以来,在黄仁、凌世德等几位领导的带领下,建筑系开始步入了快速发展的时期。2003年通过了“全国高等学校建筑学专业教育评估”,学生完成学业后可获得“建筑学学士”学位。1999年获“建筑设计及其理论”专业硕士学位授权点,2005年获得建筑与土建学科工程硕士学位授权点,2005年获得“建筑学”一级学科硕士学位授予权,2007年通过了“全国高等学校建筑学专业教育评估”,学生完成学业后可获得“建筑学硕士”学位。
土木工程系是厦门大学的老学科之一,曾于1938~1953年招生,培养了一批土木工程专业人才,曾在国内外具有相当影响。1999年学校申请并经教育部批准,恢复了该专业并开始招生,2003年获“结构工程”硕士学位授权点,2005年获得建筑与土建学科工程硕士学位授权点,2005年获得“土木工程”、“力学”两个一级学科硕士学位授予权。
城市规划系依托具有二十年历史的建筑系,经过多年的筹备,于2007年正式成立。现设有城市规划专业,具有本科(工学学士)和研究生(工学硕士、工程硕士)学位授予权。
